Art historian and granddauther of Peggy Guggenheim, Karole P. B. Vail is a leading expert on the renowned collector and patron of the arts who played a leading role in the history of Modern art, supporting numerous artists, including Alexander Calder. Peggy Guggenheim played a key role in bringing Calder's work to Italy, and the artist created extraordinary works for her, such as the famous mobile Arc of Petals (1941), currently at the MASI exhibition, and the silver headboard for her bed (1946), kept at Palazzo Venier dei Leoni in Venice.
The talk will be held in English, with simultaneous translation into Italian. A Q&A session with the audience will follow the event.
